Kidding Around

Today we went over to a friend's house in the country. Yes, even more country than my country house. She has goats, a donkey, a huge trampoline, acres of land to run wild and free upon, vintage tractors and such, and three girls to shower attention upon a certain Mr. Chase. Not to mention the most fabulous, humorous, laid-back personality that anybody could ask for in a friend. "What, is he controlling that back hoe? Eh, we wanted to tear down that fence, anyway. Wow, can we hire him this summer?" One of the goats just had a baby (kid?) a few days ago, so we all scurried out on this brilliant sunny Sunday to see this little adorable bundle of kewt. We weren't disappointed:

What can be sweeter and more endearing than that? But she was a loud little bleater. Very loud. One of the daughters scooped her up and brought her over to us, and as we cuddled into her, she (the goat, not the daughter) burst forth calling for her "MAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" The aforementioned 2 yo was NOT impressed. He had this to say about freakishly loud ma-calling bleating baby goats:

EDITED TO ADD: Veronica pointed out that SHE, not I, took these AMAZING pictures. I cannot believe that this minor detail completely slipped my mind. I did photoshop the pics, but she TOOK them. She said to go ahead and leave them up with my siggy marks, but she definitely needs to be given the credit for them. :)
